This video shows the beginning of an era. The MTV era. And of course, the first video ever played, fittingly, was Video Killed The Radio Star.

This is like nostalgia, even though I wasn't born in that era lol. 80s ftw.

Must've been great growing up in the 80s. What I'd give to be 12 in 1981. Oh wait, my mom was 12 in 1981. Maybe I'll just ask her xD

Hard to imagina that in less than 30 years, MTV has gone from playing great music to playing pretty much nothing but awful scripted reality TV show spoofs, and the actuly shows.... Im not sure which is worse.

Yeah, we don't have MUSIC Television anymore, but I think YouTube has picked up that role. I mean there's a shit load of music on YouTube you can listen to whenever. So it's like our generation's MTV.

Still though, if MTV is sticking with Jersey Shore and The Hills type shit, it needs to go ahead and die. However Vh1 Classic is really good about showing a lot of videos and documenteries about 70s and 80s music. I love that channel.

Since MTV sucks, there's always the 800 channels with the 70s, 80s, and 90s music. ^_^ Thank god for that. lol Btw, I think it's cool they played "Video Killed the Radio Star" as the first song. ^_^ Seems very appropriate.
