Put rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip and rub it around the affected tooth. Make sure you do NOT swallow this. do not douse the Q-Tip simply wet it.

Painkillers will definitely help and perhaps ice on the cheek near the tooth to numb pain.

Buy Orajel, that stuff is the shit. It numbed my entire mouth over when i had the metal stuck in my tooth, it was like i'd had a numbing injection, but without the injection It's £4.99 from most chemists, its great!
