Okay, so as some of you may or may not know, I'm a musician, with my own (until recently) working band, and I'm the main lyricist.
It only just occurred to me that I could post a few of my ideas, to give you a flavour of what kind of stuff I write, as well as some completely different things, that I've not been able to introduce to my band for one reason or another.
So, here goes.
This is definitely one of our heaviest songs, and is blindingly fast, under 2 minutes. I used a form of verse called pantoum, which is a Malay verse form. I first discovered this form through Rush's song The Larger Bowl.
This second song is a blues piece I've written, and is bioautographical. For some reason my parents are very grumpy on Sundays. See what you think.
Next up is an old tune, one of the first I wrote, and the first song that Synapse recorded. You can hear this one by clicking the Like Metal? link in my sig.
Constructive crit/comments welcome. If you think it's shit, say why please

Escape
How can you hope to make it alive
When the only way to live is to die
And with deaths jaws lying open
How can you live with any hope
When the only way to live is to die
And with deaths jaws lying open
How can you live with any hope
With the fires of hell falling from the sky
And with deaths jaws lying open
How can you live with any hope
With the fires of hell falling from the sky
How can you hope to make it alive?

Momma's Hurt
Momma's got rule in vein
Iron grip, on this reign
He hit small with a stick
'Tidy your room, make it quick'
Well Momma, she got wise words,
But no one pay attention to her hurt
I said, Momma, I gotta play I gotta go
She looked at me dead, with a face like a po
Well daddy said no, he so cruel
But Momma said yes, she so cool
Well Momma, she got wise words,
But no one pay attention to her hurt

Dark of the Day
Escape from reality
Out of the everlasting night
The evermore whirlwind of despair
Spiralling down into hell
Searching for an end to the waste
Search for forgiveness
An end to the light of the night
Searching for a relief from the pain
Search for the Devils’ Salt
An end to the dark of the day
Now it’s come to this
I bow to the wants and needs
Of the scum, villainy and filth
Come crawling faster, life burning faster
Searching for an end to the waste
Search for forgiveness
An end to the light of the night
Searching for a relief from the pain
Search for the Devils’ Salt
An end to the dark of the day
Searching for an end to the waste
Search for forgiveness
An end to the light of the night
Searching for a relief from the pain
Search for the Devils’ Salt
An end to the dark of the day
The sneering faces upon the walls
Friends watch me in sadness
Foes watch me in delirium
Bowing to my own master
Searching for an end to the waste
Search for forgiveness
An end to the light of the night
Searching for a relief from the pain
Search for the Devils’ Salt
An end to the dark of the day
